INVESTIGATION LAUNCH:

Wednesday 8 January 2014 – media invited to Brigade Restaurant

The Economy Committee will launch its investigation into apprenticeships in London at the Brigade Restaurant. London Assembly’s Economy Committee Chair, Stephen Knight will work alongside catering apprentices and hear their experience as apprentices from the United Kitchen program, run by the not-for-profit organisation Beyond Food, partnered with Brigade Restaurant and Babcock training providers.

Budget and Performance Committee - 10.00am in Committee Room 5

The Committee will examine how the Mayor’s draft budget plans for 2014/15 will affect police and fire services in London. The Committee will further explore issues raised in its Pre-Budget Report which questioned how targets for improved services will be achieved while budgets are being cut.

Transport Committee – 10.00am in the Chamber

The Committee will question what has been done to combat the rise in incidents on London roads involving pedestrians and what more can be done to improve pedestrian safety across the capital.

In the second stage of examining the Mayor’s draft budget for 2014/15, the Committee will question plans to fund London’s transport services and meet Olympic Park legacy commitments, as well as looking at the City Hall budget and capital spending plan.
