Annual Holocaust Memorial Day Ceremony
How can life go on? - 11:00am-12noon in The Chamber

The London Assembly and the Mayor of London will jointly host the Greater London Authority (GLA) Annual Holocaust Memorial Day Ceremony at City Hall.

The Ceremony will commemorate all those who were victims of the Holocaust and reflect upon those who have been affected by more recent atrocities.

The Address will be delivered by Rabbi Debbie Young-Somers and testimonials will be given by Mala Tribich MBE, a survivor of the Holocaust and Sokphal Din, a survivor of the Cambodian genocide.

Use of offsite built housing in London
Planning Committee site visit – 2:00pm–3:30pm

Nicky Gavron AM is undertaking a rapporteurship into the use of offsite built housing in London, and whether this type of construction could be used to help solve London’s housing crisis. She and other Assembly Members will visit the Kidbrooke Village development, Berkeley Group’s first endeavours with off-site construction. The purpose of this visit is to view homes built using offsite construction methods and understand how this way of building can be used in other developments.

Encouraging biodiversity in new housing developments
Housing Committee Rapporteurship

How can we provide Londoners with housing while increasing wildlife habitats and boosting our green spaces? Leonie Cooper AM will launch a report on behalf of the Housing Committee which will include a tour of the viewing platform at the One Tower Bridge development, where beehives on the roof can be observed.

Draft Affordable Housing and Viability SPG - 10:00am in Committee Room 5

The Housing and Planning Committees will put questions to a panel of experts about The Mayor's Affordable Housing and Viability Supplementary Planning Guidance and the Affordable Housing Programme Funding Guidance 2016-21. These two important documents will influence the number and type of affordable homes funded by the Mayor.

This joint meeting is one of two to discuss the Mayor’s new publications on affordable housing.

The whole Assembly will put questions to the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan about his draft consolidated budget.

The Assembly has the power to amend the total budget requirement for each functional body if a two-thirds majority agree to do so.

The Police and Crime Committee will continue its scrutiny of the Mayor’s Draft Police and Crime Plan.
