Why we’ve built the Rogue Landlord and Agent Checker
The Mayor believes that most private landlords and agents work hard to offer their tenants a decent service. But too many are still giving the sector a bad name. The Mayor wants to name and shame those who do.
We've built this Rogue Landlord and Agent Checker to empower renters, support local councils and others to use their enforcement powers, and deter private landlords and letting agents from behaving unlawfully.
You can see if a landlord or agent has been:
- successfully prosecuted or fined by a council in London
- successfully prosecuted or given a prohibition notice by the London Fire Brigade
- expelled from a mandatory consumer redress scheme (expulsion from these schemes means an agent is no longer able to operate legally).
Things you need to know:

Records will only stay on the system for a limited time
Every record shows the date when it will no longer be viewable to the public.

This Checker only covers certain offences
Only private landlords and letting agents who've been fined or convicted of a relevant housing offence will appear on this Checker.
