What did the programme achieve?

Participants learnt a number of good practices as a result of the programme. These included:

  • developing and sharing teaching resources
  • continuous professional development of teaching staff
  • identifying other funding sources
  • viewing parts of their projects as integral to their core business.

To celebrate the programme’s success, we hosted an event at City Hall in June 2015 for over 100 guests. The event demonstrated beneficiaries’ achievements through presentations and market stalls. It also provided an excellent opportunity for networking and inspired future projects and collaboration.

Who funded and managed the programme?

The £2 million programme received £500,000 from the LSEF and £1.5m from the European Integration Fund (EIF), administered by the Home Office. The EIF funding was awarded under Strategic Priority 3 (capacity building and dissemination) which supports the integration of non–EU nationals in member states.

The programme was launched as part of the London Schools Excellence Fund and managed by the GLA Delivery Unit.
