Mayor’s Action Plan for Transparency, Accountability and Trust – Working together to provide a police service that has the confidence of all Black Londoners
Quarterly Public Review Meetings
On 7th July 2021 the Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime hosted the second public review meeting with over 80 stakeholders and community members to review progress in delivering the Mayor’s Action Plan for Transparency, Accountability and Trust. The Mayor’s Action Plan makes an explicit commitment to involve communities in reviewing the delivery of the plan, and the quarterly public review meetings are a key way in which the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) is ensuring community experience, feedback and ideas continue to drive delivery of the Plan. All feedback from these meetings and our broader accountability and engagement programme with communities is shared with the Deputy Mayor and actively shapes the Mayor’s Action Plan programme.
Following an overview of progress in specific areas of focus from both MOPAC and the MPS – summaries of which can be found at the links below, delegates engaged in plenary and breakout discussions to explore community ideas on how to build trust and confidence and improve communication with our communities. Also available at the below link is a summary of the feedback delegates shared during the meeting, and a response from the Metropolitan Police Service to some of the specific questions raised.
The next public review meeting will be held in September. MOPAC’s community engagement team are keen to ensure that these meetings continue to be shaped by the work in the Action Plan that is of most interest and concern to our communities and stakeholders.
