Public Health Briefings for Community, Voluntary and Faith groups
In November 2020, City Hall, the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities (OHID) and NHS England (London) joined forces to launch regular public health briefings for leaders working in London’s community, voluntary and faith sectors.
The aim of the sessions was to enable community leaders to support our city’s diverse communities throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, with trusted and timely information and resources, straight from public health experts. They were also an opportunity to hear directly from communities about issues at the forefront of all Londoners’ minds.
With COVID-19 exposing, widening and exacerbating existing health inequalities in our city, these briefings have evolved to focus on supporting leaders working to address these inequalities in their communities. Sessions provide touch points with our health partners on everything from looking after the mental health and wellbeing of communities to supporting community health through the cost-of-living crisis.
City Hall is proud to facilitate these quarterly discussions between communities and public health leaders. The sessions take place virtually, via MS Teams. If you’re interested in attending the next briefing event, or would like to receive the follow-up health updates, please sign-up below. We’ll be in touch with the invitation.
