Testing is easy and quick and helps to stop the spread of coronavirus by identifying positive cases so that they can isolate. 1 in 3 people with coronavirus do not display symptoms but can stilll pass it on, so regular testing is the best way to identify cases and reduces the chances that they will infect others

Anyone with a positive COVID test (of any kind) must self-isolate immediately. Although vaccinations help prevent severe disease and hospitalisation from COVID-19, they do not fully stop people from catching the virus and passing it on to others. You do not know who around you might be more vulnerable and the more the virus spreads, the more chance of a new variant appearing. It’s therefore still very important to continue to self-isolate if you have the virus, even if you have been vaccinated.

All the latest information on testing for coronavirus can be found on the NHS website testing page.
