Eid in the Square will return to the capital on Saturday 20 April. The free annual celebration, following the end of Ramadan, will take place in Trafalgar Square and will be hosted by Capital XTRA DJ, Yasser Ranjha, and comedian, Ola Labib.

Londoners and visitors will be treated to the best of Islamic inspired art, history and culture with musical performances on the main stage alongside a feast of food stalls from across the world.

The celebration will run from noon to 6pm and features an afternoon of live performances, from musicians including Love’s Pilgrim, Raghad Haddad and Raghad Haddad and members of the Orchestra of Syrian Musicians,  Muslim Belal and all the way from Pakistan, Chahat Mahmood Ali Qawwal and Group.

There will be a range of family friendly activities on the day including creative arts workshops, storytelling and VR experiences, all celebrating different traditions from across the Islamic world.

The Inspiring Muslim Awards also return for another year, celebrating unsung heroes from London’s Muslim community.

The free family event is organised by the Mayor of London and developed in partnership with the Eid Community Advisory Group and London based arts, culture and grassroots Muslim organisations.

Tufail Hussain, Director of Islamic Relief UK, said: “Eid in the Square is a very important occasion which brings together all communities in London to mark the end of Ramadan. “At Eid in the Square families will enjoy food stalls, entertainment, fun activities. People will also be able to support Islamic Relief, which is marking its 40th anniversary this year providing lifesaving support around the world.”

Graham Baker, Head for the UK, Ireland and the Nordics, Western Union, said: “Western Union connects people across the world, through fast, reliable, and secure money transfers. We are then truly proud to be supporting the Eid in the Square 2024 festival, bringing together communities, friends, and families to celebrate the end of Ramadan. As a company, we remain committed to supporting Muslim and other diaspora communities as they seek to build a life of opportunity and hope for their families and loves ones, wherever they are.”

Prof Ray Lloyd, CEO of Global Banking School (GBS), said: “Global Banking School is delighted to support this event which aligns with our values of celebrating the strength of diversity within our communities.
