Skills for Londoners Board
The Skills for Londoners Board advises on actions to support the Mayor's Skills for Londoners Strategy and his skills and employment programmes, including adult education in London.
The board meets around four times a year.
Members are encouraged to share their insights about how to make sure all Londoners and London's businesses can access the skills they need to succeed.
The Board's aims
The Skills for Londoner Board's aims are:
- to advise the Mayor on actions and outcomes to drive forward the Mayor's Skills for Londoners Strategy
- to advise on strategic priorities, outcomes and funding requirements for adult education in London
- to advise on other skills and employment priorities in London as required.
Members of the Board
The board is co-chaired by the Deputy Mayor for Planning, Regeneration and Skills and London Councils' Executive Member for Skills and Employment.
The rest of the board's membership is made up of key stakeholders including London's boroughs, Further Education colleges, independent training providers and businesses.

Meetings of this board are not held in public but agendas will be published five clear working days before the meeting to which they relate. Summary minutes will be published in draft within two weeks of the meeting.
Subordinate bodies
The Skills for Londoners Board is supported by subordinate bodies that assist the Board in meeting its objectives.
This group will steer and support the development of City Hall’s approach to introducing outcome-based commissioning of the Adult Education Budget (AEB).

The Higher Level Skills Advisory Group will steer and support the development of City Hall’s approach to promoting higher level skills (Levels 4-7, non-degree) provision and qualifications, including apprenticeships and Advanced Learner Loan funded qualifications.

This group was established in response to the Covid-19 pandemic and was disbanded in March 2022.
It existed to help steer, challenge and oversee the Skills for Londoners Board and Skills for Londoners Business Partnership’s strategy and programme of activities of the London Recovery Board’s 'Helping Londoners into good work' mission and parts of the 'Digital access for all' mission.
