DLR fare evaders cost TfL over £10m in 10 years
Transport Committee – The Chamber, City Hall, Kamal Chunchie Way, 10am
For the ten years between 2010/11 and 2019/20, the estimated value of fares evaded on the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) was just under £10.9m.
With DLR ridership levels slowly climbing towards pre-pandemic levels, and with Transport for London’s (TfL) 2023 business plan highlighting opportunities for future expansion on the DLR network, the Transport Committee will meet to discuss key priorities for the DLR, including how much of an issue fare evasion is on the DLR.
The Committee will also question senior TfL officers on the proposed expansion and rolling stock replacement, which will see a new fleet of 54 trains replace the existing 33 older trains in order to expand capacity.
- Trish Ashton, Director of Rail & Sponsored Services, TfL
- Tom Page, General Manager of DLR, TfL
- Matthew Yates, Head of Projects & Consents, TfL

What TfL fare increase can Londoners expect in 2024/25?
Budget and Performance Committee – The Chamber, City Hall, Kamal Chunchie Way, 10am
A key question that many Londoners will be asking ahead of the Mayor’s 2024/25 budget is what level of fare increase will be imposed on the Transport for London (TfL) network.
TfL’s 2024/25 budget submissions project a passenger income of £5.647 billion in 2024-25. This is a seven per cent increase on the £5.256 billion forecast for the year in the 2023-24 submissions.[1] This will be driven by a combination of higher fares and growing ridership.
The Budget and Performance Committee will meet to quiz senior TfL officers on their 2024/25 budget submissions, including what level of fare increase should be expected.
- Seb Dance, Deputy Mayor for Transport
- Andy Lord, TfL Commissioner
- Patrick Doig, TfL Group Finance Director and Statutory Chief Finance Officer
