Letter to Friends of the Earth about the Mayor's budget

Dear London Friends of the Earth Network,

Thank you for sharing your submission to the Mayor’s draft budget 2024-25

On behalf of myself, Caroline Russell AM and Sian Berry AM, I am writing to formally express our thanks for sharing your submission to the Mayor’s 2024-25 consultation budget.

This amendment has clearly been the result of diligent and thoughtful analysis of the Mayor’s budget and policy; a reflection of the invaluable work you have done over the past year that has helped to critique the Mayor’s green skills policies.

Your ongoing scrutiny has been incredibly valuable in for my own work, particularly in informing the report I published in September on the Mayor’s ‘Retrofit Revolution’.

And it works; the Mayor recently committed to funding Retrofit Coordinator training for 50 employees at local authorities and social housing providers.

This is one small step, but it is a sign that scrutiny works, and I look forward to working together to push the Mayor where Londoners, and the planet, need him to be.
