This is an information request relating to Pride events.
Please include the following information for the financial year 2022-23:
- Whether any events have been organised for Pride month.
- If so, provide the date, start and end time, and title or topic of the event.
- Whether any LGBT themed merchandise has been purchased for Pride month, that is since the beginning of the 2022-23 financial year. If so provide me with information on what has been purchased and the cost.
- Whether the council has sponsored any Pride events. If so which events and provide details of the nature of the sponsorship (particularly the financial value).
Our response
I can confirm that the GLA holds information within the scope of your request for the financial year 2022-23:
The GLA organised the Mayor of London Pride Reception on Monday 27 June 2022, 6pm – 8.30pm. London’s Pride Parade and event held on Saturday 2 July 2022 was a community-led event organised and delivered by Pride in London.
GLA staff and volunteers joining the Pride parade were provided with uniformed t-shirts (£1,410) and hand-held paper flags (£500).
The GLA does not sponsor any Pride events. However, the GLA provided £100,000 in grant funding to support the delivery of the Pride Parade on Saturday 2 July 2022 and £20,000 grant funding to support the delivery of the UK Black Pride event held at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park on Saturday 14 August 2022.
