Throughout July 2017, we held a number of drop in events and presentations as part of the revised draft Local Plan consultation and a colleague wrote a poem that we thought would be fun to share.
An Evening Consultation - by Thomas Mabey
Biscuits were munched whilst Tea and Coffee quenched;
Promoting democracy to decipher, the oddities of sense!
Opinions were exhorted, releasing personal views to roam,
In front of the OPDC sentries that wished to go home!
But home they resisted in the knowledge they conveyed,
To promote the ideals and mastery, of O.P.D.C ways!
Like the virtues of patience, watching a draught of Guinness beer,
Conversation was aplenty exciting those present and near!
As expectations unravelled of a new high Street and homes,
Will dreams become reality only the future can hone?!
