Our Major Events Programme supports large scale sporting, music, arts and cultural events in London by harnessing the unique value of volunteering.
We provide volunteers who reflect the diversity of London and are happy to share their knowledge, pride and enthusiasm on behalf of the Mayor of London, helping to create an unrivalled welcome. In turn, we support Londoners to be active citizens by offering the most exciting and varied volunteering opportunities across the capital’s programme of major events.
Since 2012, Team London has brokered over 8,000 volunteering opportunities for over 80 Major Events, supporting Lumiere London, London Marathon, Great Fire 350, Prudential Ride London and the 2017 World Para Athletics Championships and IAAF World Championships.
Working with Team London on your Major Event
Team London can help you attract the most experienced and passionate volunteers by providing support packages designed to help with:
- recruitment, selection and training of volunteers
- advertising volunteer roles and social media to Team London networks
- communicating / managing volunteers
- volunteers shift allocations and attendance
- reward and recognition allocation
- event day support.
Packages range from introductory, intermediate and advanced, all of which are based around the number of volunteers and the range of support you require.

This was my first-year volunteering at the iconic event and I loved every minute of it, to be out helping people on the night either with their own ticket access or helping others make other plans it was great to be a part of. I really felt like I was involved in the event and will be back for years to come!
