On 3 April 2023, the Mayor of London launched a new £126m Refugee Housing Programme to fund the delivery of up to 630 affordable homes for those with acute housing needs who have arrived in the UK via recent Ukrainian and Afghan resettlement schemes.

The programme intends to address the immediate housing pressures faced by these groups, and create a new and permanent supply of affordable housing in London.

The Refugee Housing Programme forms part of the wider Local Authority Housing Fund, which is administered by the Department of Levelling Up, Housing and Communities.

For further information on the programme requirements and how to bid read the Refugee Housing Programme Funding Guidance and the Refugee Housing Programme - supplementary funding guidance for Registered providers.

You can view the Refugee Housing Programme - supplementary guidance for Registered providers in HTML format.

Prospective partners should submit bids on the  GLA Open Project System.

Funding agreements

The funding agreements are in a standard form and not subject to negotiation.

The GLA will arrange for engrossments to be sent out to partners with funding allocations.

The GLA expects to sign the majority of contracts via DocuSign.
