London Made Me shop
Our retail training and shop programme returns
One shop. 12 London creative businesses. Eight weeks to launch a unique retail experience together.
The London Made Me retail training and shop programme brings together creatives, makers and artists from the Mayor of London's Creative Enterprise Zones to learn the ropes of high street retail before building and trading in their own collective retail store.
The aim is to give Londoners living or working in one of the city's 12 zones the skills, knowledge and real-life practical experience needed to establish and launch a successful shop, gallery, exhibition or pop-up space in their own high streets and local areas.
Our festive shop comes to the iconic Carnaby Street
This year we're delighted to be based in the heart of the West End and it will be a retail experience like no other.
Officially opening its doors on Saturday 2 December - coinciding with Small Business Saturday - the shop will trade throughout the festive period until Saturday, 30 December 2023 and will showcase a unique collection of limited-edition artworks, homeware, clothing, ceramics, accessories and gifts.
The shop will also offer both locals and international visitors the chance to get creative, with an exciting programme of interactive workshops and events, including in-store live art murals, creative artist nail salons, artist portrait sessions, screen-printing workshops, live podcasts and much more.
The London Made Me retail training and shop programme 2023 is delivered in partnership with Creative United, Alice Mayor and our media partner Visit London.

Meet our 2023 creatives
Learn about the London Made Me shop 2022
Our first-ever boutique store launched in 2022 and featured unique gifts made by talented makers and artists from across the Mayor of London’s Creative Enterprise Zones.
But London Made Me was 'not another pop-up shop’.
The pilot project saw 14 selected London-based creative businesses come together in an intensive four-week programme to learn, build and trade their own collective shop experience on Regent Street.
The programme aimed to inspire, tool-up and empower the city’s most exciting creatives to ultimately launch their own curated spaces and help transform our high streets.
It was open from Friday 11 November to Tuesday 20 December 2022, and featured artwork to sustainably-made clothing and accessories and handmade ceramics.
There was in-store events programme of live art, workshops and product demonstrations during the three-week trading period.
The shop was delivered in partnership with Alice Mayor, Hypha Studios and The Crown Estate, with thanks to Westminster Council, the Business and IP Centre, Heart of London Business Alliance and London & Partners.

The London Made Me retail training and shop programme is brought to you by the Mayor of London as part of his flagship Creative Enterprise Zone programme.
The programme is aimed at independent artists, creatives and makers, living or working in the city’s twelve Creative Enterprise Zones and looking to take their creative business to the next level.
The scheme encompasses three core training modules including LEARN, BUILD and TRADE.
Two weeks of classroom training are followed by two weeks of ’real-time’ shop design and fit-out where all 12 participants come together (with the help of a build team) to launch their own collective pop-up site in a central London location.
Once open to the public, the 12 creative businesses are responsible for trading the store throughout the busy festive period and bringing live events to the space, as well as developing their sales and customer service skills.
This year's programme has Laura Mulhern, founder of Plan Make Do, leading our pioneering two-week creative business training programme at Somerset House, as well as Creative Consultant and Director, Jo Armitage, leading our creatives through the Shop Design and Build phase.
