The London Annual Business Survey (LABS) is a comprehensive survey of private sector businesses in London and provides a range of information on the performance of businesses in London.
Some of the topics covered by the survey include:
- turnover, profit and productivity
- investment and access to finance
- sales and purchasing
- information technology and innovation
- business practices and advice
- management
The survey is based on a representative sample of at least 4,000 businesses each year and covers all types of businesses in terms of size, sectors, and organisation type (limited companies, private limited companies (PLCs), soletraders, family-owned businesses, franchises, and social enterprises). The survey was undertaken by the London Development Agency (LDA) between 2003 and 2007. The reports are replicated here for continuity.
