Questions to the Mayor

The Assembly will put questions to the Mayor.

Motion submitted in the name of the Chair:

 

“That the Assembly notes the answers to the questions asked.”

Minutes:

5.1  The record of the discussion with the Mayor, including oral answers given by the Mayor to Members’ questions, is attached as Appendix 2.

5.2  The written answers to those questions not asked or unanswered during the meeting are attached as Appendix 3. 

5.3  During the course of the question and answer session, the Chair proposed, and it was agreed, that Standing Order 2.9B be suspended to extend the meeting in order to allow the remaining questions on the priority order paper to be put to the Mayor and for the remaining items of business on the agenda to be considered.

 

5.4  The Chair announced during the meeting that London-based journalist Kieron Bryan, mentioned in a motion at the last Assembly meeting, had been granted bail by a court in St Petersburg having been arrested as a result of the protest at the Prirazlomnaya oil platform in September 2013.

 

5.5  The Chair formally moved the motion set out on the agenda, namely:

 

“That the Assembly notes the answers to the questions asked.”

 

5.6  Caroline Pidgeon MBE AM moved and John Biggs AM seconded the following amendment to the motion:

 

Add:

 
“The Assembly also notes the Mayor’s oral update following requests from each party group concerning the recent deaths of cyclists in London.  The Assembly calls on the Mayor to publish an action plan and timescale for improving safety on Cycle Superhighway 2, and for upgrading all Cycle Superhighways, in good time for consideration at the December Transport Committee.”

 

In accordance with Standing Order 3.6, Darren Johnson AM, as mover of the motion, formally accepted the amendment.

 

5.7  Upon being put to a vote, the motion as altered, namely:

 

“That the Assembly notes the answers to the questions asked. The Assembly also notes the Mayor’s oral update following requests from each party group concerning the recent deaths of cyclists in London.  The Assembly calls on the Mayor to publish an action plan and timescale for improving safety on Cycle Superhighway 2, and for upgrading all Cycle Superhighways, in good time for consideration at the December Transport Committee.”

 

was agreed unanimously.
