We recently asked Londoners to share their views on the draft Skills for Londoners Strategy – a first for London, and the draft Economic Development Strategy. The consultations covered areas such as career development, barriers to getting ahead in London, opportunities and threats to the economy, as well as discussions around the role of technology in London’s future.
Over 2,000 Talk Londoners got involved and took our surveys or joined one of our discussions (over 650 Londoners responded to the skills survey and over 1,500 took the survey on London's economy.)

Key topics raised through the discussions included apprenticeships, opportunities in new technology, and tackling the threat to London’s economy from Brexit and the rising cost of living.
What's next?
As well as engagement on Talk London, we also organised focus groups and interviews with young Londoners (aged 16-19), working Londoners (aged 24-40) and older Londoners (aged 50+), as well as teachers, apprentices and adult learners to explore the barriers and opportunities Londoners face at different stages of their lives, as they make career decisions.
Our researchers and policy teams will now analyse all the feedback received from the Talk London community, representative polling and qualitative research.
