You can bid to own Sadiq’s Dream Jar and help Save the Children

Sadiq Khan's Dream Jar
Created on
12 August 2016

To celebrate the release of new film The BFG, Save the Children teamed up with Entertainment One, VisitLondon and The Roald Dahl Estate to create The BFG Dream Jar Trail across London and beyond.

Fifty well-known figures – including Mayor of London Sadiq Khan, Steven Spielberg, Professor Stephen Hawking and Sir Quentin Blake – shared their dreams and had them transformed into sculptures which were bottled inside giant Dream Jars.

These Dream Jars are now being auctioned online to raise money for Save the Children. Save the Children work in some of the toughest places in the world so that every child has the chance to make their dreams come true.

The auction closes on 31 August.

Being Mayor of London is a dream come true for me. That’s why my Dream Jar showcases our great city.

But becoming Mayor is just the start. My dream is about helping to give all Londoners the opportunities that London gave me. I believe every Londoner should have the chance to fulfil their potential. They should have a helping hand, like I had, to turn their own dreams into a reality.

I’m talking about things like a good education, a well-paid job and an affordable home in a safe and clean environment. My dream is to restore opportunity in London. I want to celebrate our great city as the open, dynamic and inspirational capital that it is.

Sadiq Khan, Mayor of London
