Supporting London to tackle violence at its roots

Announced by the Mayor in September 2018, the Violence Reduction Unit is bringing together specialists from health, police, local government, probation and community organisations to tackle violent crime and the underlying causes of violent crime.

We’re taking a fundamentally different approach to violence reduction – one where the public sector institutions and communities that make up London act together to help cut violence.

We're recruiting a small team to work on a public health approach to tackling violence in London. We believe violence is preventable. We want you to join our team to help transform violence in London now and in the future.

We are recruiting for the following roles:

This is part one of our plan. There will be other opportunities available when the Local Violence Reduction Units are created.

The post holder will work with the Head of the VRU to contribute and deliver the work programme of the VRU MOPAC’s commissioning strategy and be involved in all aspects of the commissioning cycle, working in partnership with Criminal Justice and Commissioning colleagues to ensure effectiveness and value for money is achieved.

Community Engagement Officers
