On the 27 September, one of our Team London volunteers, Jill Hedgecock, received her MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) Medal. Jill was nominated by one of her Brownie assistants for services to Girl Guiding and the Clapham Park community as part of the Queen’s Birthday Honours 2020.
Due to the pandemic, there was a delay in Jill attending the service but she was, finally, awarded her medal at Westminster Abbey by the Lord Lieutenant. Sir Kenneth Olisa OBE, this autumn.
We asked Jill for some feedback on the day and this is what she had to say:
“It was awesome to see recipients from all different walks of life being honoured by the Queen for their service in their communities in such a grand place.”
