Healthy Schools London Launch event: 25 April 2013 Thursday April 25 saw the launch at City Hall of Healthy Schools London. Hosted by Cllr Victoria Borwick, speakers included Amanda Ursell, Nutritionist and writer and Casey Stoney, Team GB London 2012 and Captain England Women's Football Team. An audience of 160 welcomed the new programme as a boost to children's health and wellbeing across the capital.

At the launch event, we were delighted to award the first 8 London schools to achieve the Healthy Schools London Bronze Award. These schools are from the 2 Boroughs that helped to test the Healthy Schools London model: Croydon and Tower Hamlets. The schools are:

Registrations and applications welcome from all London schools The Healthy Schools London website is now open to all London schools. All schools can register on the site and apply for 3 levels of Awards: Bronze, Silver and Gold. We currently have 111 schools registered and 42 schools that have achieved a Bronze Award. The schools are from a range of London Boroughs including: Newham, Hillingdon, Lambeth, Croydon, Tower Hamlets, Islington, Barking and Dagenham, Barnet, Hounslow, Hammersmith and Fulham, Kingston, Merton, Sutton and Westminster. Introductory Briefings for schools We will be holding a series of briefings to provide support and inspiration for schools that would like to get involved. 25 places are available for each Briefing. Priority will be given to London schools, however those supporting schools around health and wellbeing are able to attend if places are available. All Briefings will be held at City Hall (GLA).
