Congratulations to all of the London schools who have achieved a Bronze, Silver or Gold Healthy Schools London Award over this past year. Schools and their Borough Leads have worked tremendously hard to create environments where pupils are happy, healthy and ready to learn. Currently 1770 London schools (76%) have registered to take part in Healthy Schools London. Of these, 928 have achieved a Bronze Award, 314 a Silver Award and 61 a Gold Award. Healthy Schools London Celebration Event at City Hall
Over 100 London schools attended this year’s annual celebration event in the Chamber at City Hall on Friday 24 June to collect their Silver and Gold Awards. Over 250 delegates from schools, London Boroughs, Education, Health and the third sector came together to celebrate the achievements of London schools in making their pupils healthier, happier and ready to learn. Chaired by Dr Helen Jenner, Director of Children’s Services in LB Barking in Dagenham, speakers included Duncan Selbie, Chief Executive of Public Health England and the Highfield Junior School Choir (LB Bromley) sang songs from the ‘Get healthy, get singing’ resource that will be sent to all schools in London in the Autumn term. Change4Life 10 Minute Shake Up
This Summer Change4Life with Disney returns with 10 Minute Shake Up activities inspired by the new Disney·Pixar Finding Dory film. The campaign encourages kids to ‘Just Keep Moving’ to help reach the 60 minutes of exercise they need each day through 10 minute bursts of moderate to vigorous activity.
Primary schools will receive Early Years, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 PE curriculum linked 10 Minute Shake Up with Disney-inspired PE lesson plans with additional activities to use throughout the year. Pupils will also receive fun wall charts for the kids to take home and record their activity over the summer holidays.

Eat Like A Champ
In the school year 2014/15, Eat Like A Champ (ELAC) inspired over 60,000 Year 5 children across the UK to live healthier lifestyles. This free, healthy eating educational resource was developed by the British Nutrition Foundation in collaboration with Danone. When schools register they will receive access to online resources, with 6 lessons plans, homework activities and online games. As part of the ongoing collaboration between Healthy Schools London and ELAC, we are pleased that for next school year we will once again offer all Healthy Schools London schools who register for ELAC a free toolkit containing hardcopies of the resources including stickers, card games and homework booklets to inspire your class.
