The Homes for Londoners search site is the Mayor of London's official platform for finding an affordable home in London and making your route to buying or renting in the capital as easy as possible. Registering means you can save properties while searching on-the-go, check your eligibility for homes and book open day viewings.

We collect personal information when you register. This enables us to create and administer your Homes for Londoners account and identify suitable properties based on the information you provide.

Registration also means that we can keep you updated on how your input helps to shape plans and policies. To read in full about how we use your information, please see our privacy policy.

We’ve replaced the First Steps website with our Homes for Londoners search tool.

To continue searching for affordable housing you’ll need to create an account - you’ll then be able to save properties to your dashboard, check your eligibility for homes and book open day viewings.

You will need to register again if you only previously registered for First Steps before April 2018.

The Homes for Londoners search tool allows Londoners on low to middle incomes search for Shared Ownership, London Living Rent and other forms of affordable home ownership.

By pulling together properties from across the capital, the tool makes the process of finding an affordable home quicker, more accessible and much easier, for those who need it most.

Londoners will also be able to find new private sale properties available exclusively to London and UK based buyers, as well as Help to Buy properties.

The Mayor of London launched the Homes for Londoners project to tackle London’s housing crisis. Through Homes for Londoners the Mayor is working with local councils, housing associations and developers to build the homes Londoners need. The Homes for Londoners board, chaired by the Mayor, oversees and guides all his work.

The Homes for Londoners tool was developed in a partnership between the GLA, Keaze and Censeo Financial.
