The GLA became one of the largest public sector landowners in London in April 2012, inheriting 635 hectares. The Mayor pledged to release this land for development to drive investment, create jobs and provide additional housing for the capital.

All of the developable land has now been released. Nearly 50,000 homes will be built across the sites and almost 60,000 jobs will be created in new workspaces. There will be new schools, bridges, parks, health centres and community facilities.

You can find out what’s being built on our key development sites using our interactive land map.
