Recovery from COVID-19

London Recovery Board evolved into London Partnership Board

The London Recovery Board was set up in June 2020. It helped drive London's recovery from the pandemic by bringing City Hall, local councils, the NHS, businesses, universities, charities, trade unions, community and faith groups and all Londoners together.

They focused their work around nine recovery missions and many of you have helped shape these here on Talk London. These missions aimed to restore confidence in our city and make London greener, fairer and safer than ever before.

To address London’s complex challenges and move away from a focus on the pandemic, the London Recovery Board evolved into the London Partnership Board in March 2023. This new board is also co-chaired by the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, and the Chair of London Councils, Councillor Georgia Gould.

They will bring together London’s leaders to:

  • address London’s complex and cross cutting challenges, for example structural inequalities or housing supply
  • provide strategic advice to policy and decision makers across the capital and beyond
  • foster collaboration between the city’s partners at local and city-wide level to achieve shared goals
  • continue to oversee key workstreams established by the London Recovery Board, including:
    • London’s nine Recovery missions
    • The Building a Fairer City Action Plan
    • The London Anchor Institutions Network.

The London Partnership Board will next meet on 13 June 2023.

We will keep you posted on how you can get involved again.

Nine bold missions

London is facing its most challenging time in recent history. The pandemic has disrupted our lives in unimaginable ways. It has had a huge economic, health and social impact on our city hitting some of our communities harder than others.

A better future is possible. It will take all of us working together: City Hall, local councils, the NHS, businesses, universities, charities, trade unions, community and faith groups and all Londoners. These groups have come together to build London’s plans for recovery from the pandemic and together have set out nine bold missions to restore confidence in our city and make London greener, fairer and safer than ever before.
