When the Mayor takes over an application for his own determination he must hold a public hearing before he decides whether or not to grant planning permission.

On 30 November 2010 the Mayor directed Merton Council that he would act as local planning authority for the SITA Recycling Park planning application.

A representation hearing was held on 12 October 2011 at 18:30, where the Mayor resolved to grant planning permission, subject to the prior completion of a section 106 legal agreement.
