When the Mayor takes over an application for his own determination he must hold a public hearing before he decides whether or not to grant planning permission.

On 18 November 2011 Southwark Council advised the Mayor that it was minded to refuse planning permission for the redevelopment proposals at Eileen House, 80-94 Newington Causeway.  On 1 December 2011 the Mayor notified Southwark Council that he would act as the local planning authority for the purposes of determining this planning application (under article 7 of the Mayor of London Order and the powers conferred by Section 2A of the 1990 Town and Country Planning Act).

The Mayor is conducting a further round of public consultation on the application. The public consultation period starts on 2 May 2013 and ends on 13 June 2013.  You can view the application documents on the Southwark Council website (http://www.southwark.gov.uk (external website)) and use the email link shown there to submit your comments
