Welcome to London Food. The homepage for the work of the GLA’s Food Team and the London Food Board and its partners.
London Food works across the whole range of London’s food system promoting and developing work that meets the aims of the London Food Strategy – Healthy & Sustainable Food for London.
Apprentices and London's food and hospitality sector
The capital's food sector turns over £16 billion a year and employs more than 300,000 Londoners. It is one of the most diverse and vibrant of any in the world and an important part of our economy.
The sector offers a wide range of careers but sometimes struggles to attract the skilled workforce it needs to develop and grow. Apprenticeships are a great way to address this gap and can help build a dedicated and committed workforce to improve a business' bottom line.
On the 21 November the London Food Board in Partnership with the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health launched their Takeaways Toolkit – guidance for local authorities on how to tackle the public health impacts of fast food takeaways.
