What are the Mayor and Transport for London’s (TfL’s) proposals for devolving National Rail services, and what is the strategy for persuading the government?

The London Assembly Transport Committee will meet tomorrow to explore issues of rail devolution. The guests are:

Mike Brown, Managing Director, London Rail and London Underground, TfL

Charles Belcher, Board Member, TfL (Charles Belcher is a former Managing Director of several train operating companies (including Silverlink) and represents the interests of rail passengers outside London on the TfL Board.)

The second part of the meeting will focus on the Transport Committee’s work on the taxi and private hire industry. TfL agreed to implement most of the recommendations in the December 2014 report ‘Future Proof’, including the development of a new strategy for the industries. This question and answer session will follow up any progress, with guests:

The meeting will take place on Wednesday, 8 July from 10am in The Chamber at City Hall (The Queen’s Walk, London SE1).
