Environmental pressures of London’s growth
Environment Committee

London’s population is growing by around 100,000 each year. Such growth will increase the environmental impacts on the capital, just at a time when they need to reduce. Left unchecked, those impacts will include carbon emissions, water use, sewage outflow, urban sprawl and habitat destruction. This report evaluates the environmental pressures of London’s growth and makes recommendations as to how those pressures can best be managed.
