The Mayor of London has congratulated ParalympicsGB athlete, Sarah Storey, after her stunning performance in the C5 women's road cycling time trial final.
Today she secured her fourth gold of these games and eleventh ever Paralympic gold medal at Brands Hatch, bringing her equal to Tanni Grey-Thompson and Dave Roberts as one of GB’s most successful Paralympians.
The Mayor of London, Boris Johnson said: ‘Bravo to Sarah Storey who now reigns supreme after a clean sweep of gold, proving that she is truly the queen of road and track. Sarah rewrote the history books today by becoming one of our most decorated GB Paralympians ever and I’ve no doubt that her skill and determination will inspire young athletes for years to come, just as Tanni Grey-Thompson and Dave Roberts did before her.
“The nation is brimming with pride as ParalympicsGB athletes continue to thrill by bringing home ever more sporting gongs and enthralling record audiences with a nail biting battle for greater glory in the medal table.”
