Chair of the London Assembly Jennette Arnold AM has sent best wishes from City Hall to the British Olympic Association and all the athletes competing for Team GB at the 2012 Olympic Games.
On the eve of the opening ceremony of London’s third Olympics Jennette Arnold AM said:
“On behalf of the London Assembly I am delighted to send our very best wishes to all of Team GB. They have already made us proud by the effort and commitment they have had to put in to win the right to represent their country at the games.
“London is already setting a new world record, becoming the first city to host three summer Games. I know that all the competitors will be striving to ensure it is not the only record broken during these fantastic Games.
“There will be many medals and not a few disappointments over the next two and a half weeks but I hope every athlete remembers that just being at London 2012 represents success.”
