This MD recommends 15 European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) projects for Mayoral approval. The projects have been selected through an open bidding process by a Project Selection Committee, chaired by the GLA. The projects were endorsed by the ERDF Local Management Committee, which is the strategic partnership body overseeing the delivery of the ERDF 2007-13 programme in London. The total value of the projects is £17.9 million ERDF. The Project Selection Committee has ensured that the recommended projects have strategic fit with the Mayor’s economic development priorities. Following approval, the projects will enter contract negotiations. They will only secure the ERDF grant on conclusion of these negotiations, which will include confirmation of 50% match funding. If during contract negotiations GLA officers are not satisfied with the information provided, projects will not be offered ERDF and contractual agreement will not proceed further. The Mayor is therefore advised that until a Funding Agreement is issued by the European Programmes Management Unit (EPMU), ERDF funding is not guaranteed. Annex 1 provides a list of projects that are recommended for approval.
