DD1217 National Dementia Research Institute

Dementia has been recognised by the G7 as one of the biggest global challenges of our time. The annual financial impact on the UK economy is £23bn. The GLA is championing a London based National Dementia Research Institute being led by UCL Partners. The Institute will build on existing strengths in research and act as a facilitator for collaboration. To deliver this for London, Government backing must be secured through a business case and a fully costed business plan developed to resource the project adequately. It is intended that the GLA’s role in the project will be migrated to MedCity once it is fully operational.
