DD1188 Community Right to Build (CRtB) funding for Brixton Green Limited

The Mayor approved the funding programmes for Custom Build Housing and Community Right to Build in Greater London and delegated authority for these programmes to the Executive Director of Housing and Land under MD 1018. This is a request to approve funding for Brixton Green Limited from the Community Right to Build funding. This funding is issued against milestone 3 as set out in the “Build your own home the London way” prospectus. Milestones 1 and 2 have previously been achieved and payment totalling £49,000 agreed under ADD17.

The proposed scheme at Brixton Green will include approximately 180 new affordable and private homes, theatre and arts space, health facilities, children’s' nursery, training facilities, and employment space. Brixton Green Limited have bid for funding through the Community Right to Build programme to fund the costs that they have incurred achieving milestone 3 as defined in the community right to build element of the “Build your own home the London way”prospectus. Brixton Green have been working closely with the London Borough of Lambeth in developing their proposals for this site which now have the full support of the Local Authority.
