Well Street Market Against Racism - #LondonIsOpen

Well Street Market

Please note that this event has already occured.

Key information

Date: Saturday 06 August 2016

Time: 12:00pm to 9:00pm

Cost: Free

Well Street Market and HOPE not hate present an East End street party to celebrate the rich diversity of London life. Music, dancing, bunting, food and stalls will come together, reflecting the amazing multicultural life of London’s residents.

Two Music Stages will host local bands and DJs, and a full road closure will mean no traffic on the day so plenty of space for a good old knees-up. Visit the Facebook event page for more updates.

Food will be available from a selection of stalls and shops. Expect everything from Jerk Chicken and Turkish flatbreads to Fish and Chips. Dedicated children’s play areas will ensure fun for all the family.

The party takes inspiration from Sadiq Khan’s recent #LondonIsOpen campaign, with full support from Hackney Council and Transport for London (TfL). All money collected on the day will be split between HOPE not hate and Well Street Market.

Well Street Market is perhaps London’s most unique market – as it does not even exist yet! It still needs help from Londoners to become a reality! Well Street Traders and Residents Association is currently crowdfunding using the online platform Spacehive to create the market from scratch. Visit their crowdfunding campaign to pledge support now!
