Key information

End date: Friday 04 September 2015 at 5:00pm

Venue: City Hall, Kamal Chunchie Way, London, E16 1ZE, GB

This exhibition is based on the Whitbread shortlisted novel, Bleeding London, by Geoff Nicholson. Londoners and visitors were asked to follow the book’s main character Stuart London and walk the entire 58,000 streets of the A to Z.

Along the way they took over 58,000 photographs. These were then submitted to RPS London.

You can see 1,200 of the images from this remarkable project here at City Hall. From familiar London sights to suburban backstreets, they show the sheer variety that makes it such an exciting city.

Like the exhibition itself, the photographers range from professionals to people who’ve picked up a camera for the first time. Naturally, lots of photos have been taken on phones too.

At the same time, RPS London will launch the Bleeding London digital archive that will eventually display a photo of every street. This will become a valuable social and historic record of London.

This exhibition is sponsored by Quilter Cheviot Investment Management. It is organised by the London Region of the Royal Photographic Society.

Bleeding London is the brainchild of Del Barrett.

Exhibition curator: Jonathan Taylor and the Bleeding Londoners.

The exhibition is located on the lower ground floor of City Hall and is accessible via the public lift or ramp.
