GoodGym: a healthy way for Londoners to volunteer

GoodGym volunteering
Created on
17 June 2016

GoodGym is a fantastic combination of a volunteering group and running club that allows Londoners to make a positive impact in their communities.

During 90 minute sessions volunteers run together to community initiatives and do everything from painting fences for schools, pruning community gardens or helping vulnerable people by carrying out odd jobs. You can check out what their groups get up to here.

GoodGym has partnered with Team London, the Mayor’s volunteering programme, and Speed Volunteering to push thousands more volunteering hours into London. Team London’s Speed Volunteering app gives greater flexibility for people with hectic lifestyles and makes it even easier for Londoners to get involved.

There is no need to pre-register for GoodGym sessions (although you can if you wish), you simply turn up on the day and give it a go. With GoodGym currently running in 12 London boroughs with another 8 scheduled to start before the summer you’re never far from that fitness fix.

Sign up to GoodGym here and be part of something amazing. It’s free, fun and the most exciting way to get fit in London.

I love going round the city and being like - I did that…I dug that…I painted that. It’s just that lovely feeling that you’ve spent your evening with nice people, you’ve done something good and you’ve done some exercise - it literally covers everything. Jenny, GoodGym member
