What does the future hold for the UK and EU? How will Londoners be impacted if the UK leaves the EU? The Economy Committee has examined ‘The Europe Report’ and questioned the Mayor’s chief economic advisor, Dr Gerard Lyons on the benefits and risks of leaving the EU for the main sectors of London’s economy. During a Committee meeting on 9 September 2014, the Committee discussed with Dr Gerard Lyons:
What reforms should the EU implement?
If the UK leaves the EU, what impact will this have on London’s financial services industry?
What would be the economic impact for London of placing restrictions on EU immigration?
A transcript of the meeting is available here.
The Committee will be writing further to Dr Gerard Lyons.
