Celebrating London's adult learning
Nominations for this year’s Mayor of London Adult Learning Awards are now closed. 2024 award details will be announced shortly.
These awards are a key Mayoral commitment to raise adult learning awareness, and mission to help Londoners into Good Work in London’s key sectors.
The awards celebrate London adult learning's important role, as well as Londoner, employer and training organisation achievements.

Award categories
Mayor of London Inspirational Adult Learner of the Year Award
Inspirational achievement or commitment to learning and progression in life or work.
Mayor of London Learning for Personal Progression Award
For exceptional personal progression due to learning, including personal development, non-employment outcomes, overcoming barriers or personal challenges. This could mean health and wellbeing improvements; social integration; learner self-belief and/or volunteer participation.
Mayor of London Learning for Good Work Award
For exceptional progression into employment, and in-work progression due to further education and training. This includes overcoming barriers or challenges when entering work.
Mayor of London Distinguished Provider of Adult Education Award
For demonstrating commitment to learners, tutors and their communities. Providers who meet (or work towards) the Mayor’s Good Work Standard are inclusive, representing communities. This includes those with plans to achieve net zero carbon estates by 2030. Providers should showcase achieving the MSA Quality Mark, or how they work towards wider Mark principles.
Mayor of London Inclusive Provider of Adult Education Award
For going above and beyond, demonstrating inclusive teaching and learning accommodations. This includes providing learners with exceptional additional language need support.
Mayor of London Learning for Good Work Employer of the Year Award
For going above and beyond helping Londoners get into good work, initiating training or development programmes to support new/established employees into their organisation while acquiring skills or support progression. Eligible employers must offer Good Work, including paying London Living Wage.
Mayor of London Apprenticeship Employer of the Year Award
For going above and beyond helping Londoners get into high-quality apprenticeships, supporting them throughout their learning and work journeys.
Mayor of London Outreach and Engagement of Adults into Learning Award
For outstanding commitment to Londoners, helping them gain skills and support they need for life and progression into Good Work.
Mayor of London Inspirational Tutor of the Year in Adult Education Award
Going above and beyond to provide Londoners with high-quality education and support, inspiring them to overcome barriers while gaining skills to make positive progress in life and work.
Mayor of London Inspirational Professional in Adult Education Award
Going above and beyond to provide Londoners with high-quality education and support, by non-teaching staff at an adult education provider.
