Energy Advice London delivered by Energy Saving Trust, is service for all Londoners worried about their energy bills or wanting to reduce their energy usage.

Londoners on low incomes can access Warmer Homes Advice Service in their borough. The services can advise on available financial help, heating your home and any energy or water debt that clients have.

Grants of between £5,000 and £25,000 are available to eligible low income homeowners and private tenants, with funding amounts depending on your existing energy efficiency rating, your tenure and your current fuel type (i.e. gas, electricity, oil or LPG).
Applicants need to provide information showing they are (or their tenant is) eligible and details about the property. If the application is successful, a survey will be needed to work out which improvements are most suitable.

There are several options available if applicants qualify for the programme:
- heat pumps
- insulation for walls, lofts and floors
- heating system improvements or repairs
- draughtproofing
- solar energy installations.

All surveys and installations are managed by RetrofitWorks. They provide a dedicated contact who helps explain what improvements are most suitable and ensure that work is carried out to a high standard.
Eligibility and applications
To apply you need to:
- live in Greater London
- own or rent your own home, landlords can apply as long as the tenant is eligible
- Are in receipt of a means-tested benefit OR have a low household income (less than £20,000 a year after rent/mortgage and council tax deductions)
- Have a property EPC rating of D, E, F and G*
*EPC ratings can be determined at survey stage
Why should I apply?
- the improvements will make the property warmer
- living in a properly heated home can improve your health, particularly if you have a long-term health condition that is made worse by the cold
- lower energy bills and more efficient heating, which is better for the environment
- you won't have to pay anything towards the work (with the exception of a contribution from some private landlords receiving the Sustainable Warmth element).

How we process your data
Warmer Homes is being administered by RetrofitWorks on behalf of the Greater London Authority. Your personal data is being collected for the purpose of processing and evaluating your application as part of this scheme. The data you provide will be shared with RetrofitWorks who will be responsible for evaluating your application. Your personal data will be held by the Greater London Authority in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
